But I’m not gonna cry.

But I’m not gonna cry,
Not one sad or happy tear
I’ve waited my whole life
And now I’m gonna fly right outta here.

Hey Peeps!

It's such a long time since I last posted! I hope you haven't forgotten I existed. Haha! Basically, I'm going to post about my day-to-day Hong Kong Trip here. If you're not interested, DO NOT READ cuz I'm going into real details. I don't know if I can upload all the photos here though. If you want to see the photos, go to my facebook! So here goes, my trip to Hong Kong from 2 Nov - 6 Nov:

2 Nov 08
I took the 8am flight to Hong Kong with my mum. The flight was terrible. The captain's driving skill wasn't really good. The plane kept jerking and I became so dizzy that I couldn't eat anything down. We were also delayed for an hour. I'm not kidding! The Captain kept going "This is the Captain here. We are currently delayed b'cos of bad weather. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Meanwhile, we welcome you to fly with Cathay Pacific on CX710. Welcome on board." in his british accent which I found pretty funny. The plane's breakfast was not really good...I had to eat this funny-tasting tomato scrambled egg with grainy sausages and 2 dry hashbrowns. It also came with a muffin, orange juice and a cup of fruits. We arrived in Hong Kong only at 12.30pm. Which was pretty late considering that the others already boarded the 10am flight and were halfway to hong kong already. You see, I went with my mum's friend and her 3 children (my friends) and we were originally supposed to be on the same 10am flight. I was super hungry by then so we quickly went to the hotel to check in and bathe. Then I went for lunch! I ate a really fishy fish porridge with a dough fritter. Boy, did I had a bad impression of Hong Kong then. I felt like going home. The place was so crowded and the smell of tobacco smoke is everywhere and my nose was super itchy and I couldn't breathe properly. Probably cuz the air is too polluted? We met up with the others at 3pm. And we went to the Central MTR station to meet up with my mum's colleague (Surprised? My mum has colleagues worldwide...) before going to Victoria's Peak and Madam Tussuad's Wax Museum. (And yes, hong kong's train service is called MTR, not MRT) We took a tram up to Victoria's Peak (It's a mountain). Going up to the peak was slightly exhilarating. The whole tram was tilted and we could see the whole hong kong in a slanted view. I could feel the air pressure in my ears as we went up. At the peak, we visited Madam Tussuad's Wax Museum where there were many wax figures of popular people and celebrities. I took loads of pictures! I especially loved Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's figures. They looked so cute! You can take a look at all the pictures on my facebook profile. It's really long to upload here. Sorry! I even made a key ring with the picture my mum and I took with the wax Jackie Chan. It cost me HK $90 for 2.

I had to wake up at 6.30am to get ready. I was so grumpy since I'm really not a morning person. We ate Dim Sum for breakfast and I had to eat vegetarian since all the food contains pork. It was way embarrassing. Then we went to Lantau Island's Causeway Bay. There's a lot of buddha statues there. There was a god of fortune, longevity and fertility. It appears that Hong Kong people are rather superstitious. They are very particular about feng shui. The tour guide also showed us Jackie Chan's house. It's quite oriental styled. Then I went on a boat - sampan tour to Aberdeen Fishing Village. It was raining quite heavily then. The boatman didn't look properly and crashed into another sampan. Gosh, I was so shocked then. The impact was so big that Jia Yi got flunked off her seat. After which, we went to visit Jackie Chan's jewellery shop. My mum got her eye on one white topaz ring and the promoters and tour guide insisted that my mum buy it. Guess what? It cost HK $16 800! It's pure madness to buy a white topaz ring for so much. It's not even a diamond! My mum bargained with them and said she would only pay HK $5000 for it. When they said the lowest they can go is $6800, we walked off. But the promoters were really persistent, after discussing with 3 managers, my mum got it at HK $5000. What a bargain right? After lunch, we went to board the Ngong Ping Skyrail to Ngong Ping Village where we took some photos and explored around. The cable cars were super high and scary! We travelled for a totally distance of 5.9km before arriving at Ngong Ping Village. I could see the Tian Tan Budda Statue from there! It was soo enormous! Then we alighted the coach at the Tsim Sha Tsui area where we went to the Avenue of Stars to watch all the Hong Kong Skyscrapers light up in laser light. We also visited Harbour City Shopping Centre. It was quite a posh area so I couldn't buy any stuff. It was still pretty enjoyable. We wanted to go to the Ladies Market or 女人街. When we were at Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, we met this family who led us there. They were pretty friendly! We met them 3 times after we split at Mongkok MTR. After buying a few pieces of clothes, we tried walking back to the hotel as the hotel is only a stop away from Mongkok. But then we got lost and only found our way back at 12.30am! I was so tired that I just went for a quick rinse before collapsing on the bed.

Today is Disneyland day! My favourite of all the other days. I met a new friend! She's really sweet...she's called Hui Lin. I don't get why a lot of people said it's not fun. I mean it's quite fun, just that it's small compared to the other disneylands. First we took loads of pictures and we went to the rides. And guess what? I was so annoyed!!! Cuz when we were queuing for the rides, a bunch of China Mainland people cut our queue! They were like waving their hands to someone they know in front and before you know it, the WHOLE tour group is in front of us. And that tour GROUP consists of at least 10 people. GOSH, I shouted at them and squashed to the front of the queue. Then stepped on someone's foot on purpose. They didn't even mind! I can't believe there's such despicable people. Oh honestly! After that incident, all of us learnt how to prevent them from cutting through, they really ARE very thick-skinned. I went to this attraction called Mickey's Philhar Magic. It was awesome. It's actually a 3D movie where Donald Duck is the star. It's a mixture of all the disney movies. And there's The Golden Mickeys where it's an award ceremony for disney stars like the oscars. Then I went to the Space Mountain which is a 360 degree roller coaster. I nearly fainted on that ride! It was so fast and it kept spinning around so fast until I couldn't even scream. I was just concentrating on remembering how to breathe. After that, I had to sit down for one and a half hour before I was slightly better. I was so dizzy and nauseous, I became green (according to everyone)! After recovering, I went to Stitch Encounter where there's an interactive Stitch which we can chat with. But he was speaking in Cantonese so Jia Yi, Jia Jun and Jia Yun had no idea what he was talking about. There was this little girl whose name when pronounced in Cantonese is called 'One Book less'. Then Stich was asking her if she always forgets to hand up her homework properly since she will always be a book less. Haha! WE Always went to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters where you get to shoot targets. My highest score was 422 900 which meant I won everyone else! Haha. I also went to Autopia. I got to drive a car. But to admit the truth, women are really bad drivers. I had no idea how to drive the thing so I was speeding the whole way. That's why towards the end I bumped into Jia Jun 7 times. That was way embarrassing! By then it was already 7pm so we went to Sleeping Beauty's Castle to watch the fireworks. It was quite pretty....I enjoyed myself very much. We tried to look for the same restaurant for dinner but to no avail. Instead, I got to experience the smell of fermented beancurd. I nearly barfed the first time I smelled it but after that, I thought it was pretty fragrant. We had to settle in another restaurant as we couldn't find the same one. We managed to find it only when we started shopping. How infuriating! I was quite heaty then and I was coughing badly so I went to buy a cup of bitter herbal tea. It was so bitter! Then I ate herbal jelly (龟苓膏), compared to Singapore's, it's sooo much more bitter. You HAVE to eat it with honey. After eating all these herbal stuff, my whole mouth was super bitter.

Today we went to Ocean Park. On the way there, we were involved in a traffic jam for 30 min because of a traffic accident. When I got to the park, I was experiencing major motion sickness. We went to the jellyfish museum, followed by the marine aquarium and shark aquarium. I like the jellyfish most. Then we proceeded to the rides. To my disappointment, I only dared to ride 3 out of 10 of the rides. They were wayyy too thrilling for me! Even after going to the flying wing, the ride where you sit in a seat and fly round and round in the sky, I needed 10 min for me to regain my composure. I really am lousy aren't I? The dolphin show was kind of boring. My favourite ride was raging river. I bought a poncho to play in that ride! It's like we board a small raft and then we will be floating on the water and then there will be a steep drop at the end where you will feel like you're flying. Then at the end, there will be an automatic camera to snap your picture. I rode on that ride for a total of 5 times. Everytime after each ride, we'll run down to the photo booth to see how we look. I'll always have my mouth open in a shocked way. Hahaha! But it was really fun! We went shopping again at night. This time I bought a whole pile of clothes. It was so cheap there! I bargained with the shop owners and they agreed to give me discounts. I was wayy happy man! I went to this shop called Basics when I got 6 pieces of clothes. I even got the dresses I wanted to buy at only SGD $17 each. Jia Yi even went to the cyber cafe that night because she wanted to check which of her friends were in Econs streams and which are in Bio. She seemed to be in a dilemma for choices. We went to eat Abalone Porridge for supper cuz I got hungry after all the shopping. This time I drank another herbal bitter tea which was THE MOST BITTER THING I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY WHOLE LIFE! I nearly died after drinking one sip. I finished it in less than a min. I had to finish it ASAP since it's so bitter. Then everyone at the table tried a taste of that tea and everyone was wincing at the taste. I was laughing like crazy cuz it was so amusing looking at the look on everyone's faces. Even the mums cannot take the taste!

It's free and easy until 4.30pm where we have to meet at the hotel to travel to the airport. Early in the morning, we went to a nearby eatery to eat breakfast. Then we went to a street where they strictly sell sneakers. I liked many pairs of sneakers but there wasn't my size there at all....it was so depressing. Hong Kong people are just too small sized! There was finally this pretty pair of metallic gold addidas sneakers with silver stripes that fitted me so I bought it immediately. I was so happy! But there was this other black with small pink polka dots addidas running shoes that I liked a lot...but it was so sad cuz there wasn't my size! After that, we went back to the hotel to bathe quickly before checking out. Then the mums went out shopping again while the kids went to the cybercafe. Before long, we had to head for the airport. At the airport, we went shopping and eating. We were there at 6.15pm but after shopping, we started walking towards the plane only at 7.34pm. The flight was dued at 8pm. By then, Jia Jun claimed that the airplane was announcing our names as final call before the airplane takes off. We were running like shit with so many shopping bags. They were mega heavy especiallly my shark's fin. Yup, I bought loads of shark's fin. They were really cheap and good quality. And the stupid stewards kept running with us and asking us to hurry up. They were not gentlemen at all okay! They didn't even bother helping me hold 1 of my bags. I was like holding 3 bags of stuff and running and all they do is run with you and hurry you. SO annoying! But the flight was really smooth. We arrived earlier than usual this time.
That's the summary of my trip. I'm really tired now...so nites!
